Hugo Werner - Creative Director and founder of a Brazilian-based design studio - schooled at the prestigious Art Center College of Design (California, USA) where he graduated with distinction in Graphic Design / Motion Graphics in 2002. Hugo Werner won his first international recognition with the Adobe Design Achievement Awards in 2001. He was granted the first place in the print category with his work Memory_Identity - a self-promotional piece in which the designer explores the
underlying relation of Memory and the Self. He also worked at Fuel Design and Fox Digital before coming back to his native country in 2003.
Since 2004, Hugo Werner has been lecturing typography, motion graphics
and creative process as a faculty member of FUMEC University and UEMG -
Design School, in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He is also
currently finishing and releasing his digital typeface M-Parts,
selected to participate at the IPT 2003 (International Poster
Triennial, Japan) and the VI Golden Bee Poster Festival (Moscow,
Russia). The project was inspired by and works as a satire of increasing escalation in militarism and violence worldwide. |
